Berlin has an extensive public transport system. Many bus lines operate 24 hours. On weekends and official holidays underground and urban rail (S-Bahn) are running all night. On days without 24h underground services, busses are running along the metro stations during the night.
 

To go by bus or other means of public transportation you have to buy a so called AB-Ticket. With a ticket for zones AB you are always right within Berlin! Please note: Tickets requiring cancellation must be cancelled immediately on starting travel. If you like to visit Potsdam, Sachsenhausen or Schönefeld Airport you have to buy an ABC Ticket.
